Penketh & Sankey District Schools Challenge Football competition 2008
For the last three years, we at Eagle JFC are pleased to have worked
with Penketh Community Primary School to bring football, through an
annual schools tournament, to those children in the local community who
do not normally get the opportunity to play football. During those
three years it was clear that there was a something missing for those
children that do play football regularly but do not get the chance of
the pride of representing their school and so with a lot of thought
this competition was born.

Congratulations Phil!
Congratulations to our Football Development Officer Phil Eastham who has added a number of high profile coaching awards to his growing collection. Phil was awarded the Liverpool County F.A Coach of the Year Award and the Grass Roots Coach of the year. Success at this level allowed Phil to compete for the regional prize at the North West F.A headquarters at Moss Farm. This stage of the competition incorporated an assessed training exercise from which Phil came out with top honours as the Regional Coach of the Year. The national finals meant a trip to the national F.A headquarters and further assessments this time in the presence of Sir Trevor Brooking and Sir Geoff Hurst. Phil’s Under 9’s team were also fortunate enough to be invited as part of the event. Although not successful on this occasion, everybody at Eagle J.F.C would like to congratulate Phil on his fantastic achievements in gaining these prestigious awards.

Eagle JFC Take Over Halliwell Jones Stadium!
A large (and noisy) contingent from Eagle JFC trekked down to the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Friday Night in support of their “Unsung Hero” nominee (and local hero!) Phil Eastham. Despite nearly raising the roof at every mention of the word “Eagle” or “Phil Eastham”, Phil was pipped at the post in his quest for glory. However, Phil remains a true champion in the eyes of all at Eagle JFC and we look forward to nominating him for the next 40 years! Please take time to look over more pictures from the night (and can you name the Happy Couple in the photograph?!)
